The command filledsymbols instructs plotl to fill the symbols with a solid color rather than just drawing the hollow outline. Only symbols numbered 0, 1, 2, and 5 can be filled.
The command nofilledsymbols instructs plotl to only draw the outline of the symbols, rather than filling the symbol with a solid color. This is the default mode.
